The Austin Medical Research Foundation (AMRF) is once again inviting researchers to submit applications for 2024. In 2023, AMRF awarded grants totaling $413,500 to support a range of projects that do everything from investigating a wearable device to continuously monitor foetal heart rate to designing breast cancer immunotherapy. The grants included top-up funds for current projects, a seeding grant for a new idea and a special grant for the Bernie Sweet Award.
AMRF is also offering a new research initiative to celebrate more than 50 years of research excellence (1970-2023): Early Career Innovation Seeding Grant. This new grant is intended for early career researchers who need help in developing a novel direction to their existing research. Please read the Information for Applicants and the Application Form for further details.
Please note that if researchers apply for an Early Career Innovation Seeding Grant, they do not need to submit the same for consideration for ordinary funding. They should justify the EC Innovation Seeding Grant with an EC Innovation application. If it is not successful, the AMRF Research Committee will still consider it for normal funding.
Applications close on Wednesday 18 October 2023.
